This Privacy Policy explains how Karmvahini ('we', 'us', 'our') collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the 'Service'). By using Karmvahini, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, password, city, skills, work experience, education, and — for Candidates — your resume file and, optionally, a profile photo. For Recruiters, we also collect company details you provide when posting jobs. We also automatically collect limited usage data (such as app interactions and device type) to keep the Service reliable and secure.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate core features of the Service: creating and maintaining your account, matching and displaying relevant job listings, enabling applications, showing your submitted application and resume to the Recruiter you applied to, sending you service-related notifications, and improving the reliability and relevance of the Service over time.
3. Sharing With Recruiters & Employers
When you apply to a job, your profile details, resume, and any cover note are shared with the Recruiter or company that posted it, for the purpose of considering your application. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your profile or resume with any Recruiter you have not applied to.
4. Aggregated Job Listings
Some job listings on Karmvahini are sourced from publicly available channels — such as company career pages, WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, and LinkedIn — rather than posted directly by a Recruiter. We only collect the public job-posting content from these sources; we do not collect personal data about individuals from them.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data, including uploaded resumes, is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. Resume files are served through time-limited, signed links rather than being made permanently public. While we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices & Rights
You can review and update most of your profile information at any time from the app's Profile tab. You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data — including your resume, applications, and saved jobs — from Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app. This action is irreversible. You may also write to help@karmvahini.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
8. Cookies & Similar Technologies
The Service uses local device storage (such as secure token storage) to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, such as your chosen theme. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
9. Children's Privacy
Karmvahini is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at help@karmvahini.com so we can remove it.
10. Compliance
We process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, where it applies. For any grievance related to the processing of your personal data, you may contact us using the details below.
